Monoprice Drawing Tablet Vs Wacom
Entry Level Tablet: Intuos vS Monoprice
im looking to get my first drawing tablet, im not a graphic designer and i basically will just be using it to trace and outline a few photos. i dont really know what to be looking for but the small intuos and monoprice tablets are in my current price range (~$50). is one particularly better than the other? what should i look for in a tablet moving forward? is this the right subrreddit to ask this?

Wacom is the standard for graphics tablets. It is very user friendly. I use the old wacom bamboo for years which now is the intous base model. I am not really familiar with the monoprice tablets, but you can't go wrong with the intous.
The thing to look for in tablets would be the pen pressure.

I started with a small Wacom tablet, then ended up getting a larger Monoprice (then a smaller Monoprice). The Monoprice is great for the money, it's good to get used to and not too shabby overall. The downside is they arent very feature heavy, the pen needs a battery and the software is hit or miss. Wacom is super stable, because they're massive. So for beginner, Monoprice is pretty solid. Wacom is the gold standard, but you're paying for it.

thanks for both replies, from what i've read it seems that all the reviews praising the monoprice (theres a lot) are from ~2009/2010 and all the reviews from the past couple of years say that theres issues with drivers and OS X compatibility. can you or anyone speak on that? that's making me lean more towards a wacom if set up would be any bit of a headache.
